Danette Laate's Hummingbird buzzes around spreading irrepressible joy, carved from a lively surfite. This upcycled material is from the solidified accumulation of surfboard paint so the hues are endless. A focused gaze is from turquoise inlays, while an iridescent mother-of-pearl beak is nice and pointy ready to sip lots of nectar. A Zuni Sunface symbol from coral, jet and turquoise is inlaid representing a balance of the elements. About 2 1/4" tall, 1/2" wide and 1 1/8" deep.
