Shown on a lovely base of ironwood, comes Talia Quandelacy's magnificent tablita maiden carved from turquoise. A traditional headdress called a "tablita", along with a shawl and boots adorn this approximate 3 1/4" tall, 2" wide and 3/4" deep fetish, measurements include base. A face of overlaid fossilized ivory that's been incised and darkened with jet paste, adds a luxurious richness to this fetish. She's adorned with incised star elements and inlays of colorful lapis lazuli, red coral and malachite.
Talia comes from an important family of artists. Her mother is renowned carver Faye Quandelacy of Zuni Pueblo, while her father is master jeweler Franklin Carrillo of Laguna Pueblo.
