Carved by Dinah Gasper, this excellent Badger is carved from an orthoceras fossil stone. This creature has turquoise inlaid eyes and nostrils. Traditionally, badgers are attributed to having healing knowledge because of their familiarity with the roots in their dens. The badger measures about 1 3/4" long, 1" wide and 1/2" tall.
Dinah Gasper is the granddaughter of Old Man Acque, an early noted fetish carver. Her daughter Debra Gasper continues the family carving tradition and honors her mother by inlaying nostrils on her carvings as well.
