The A:Shiwi (Zuni) traditionally honor Six Directions in life assigning a specific color and animal for each one. White Wolf is the Prey Guardian for the East. Burt Awelagte carved a wonderful white Wolf (Coyote or Fox) from spectacular sugar stone marble to a size of approximately 4 1/4" long, 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" tall. Earnest eyes are from turquoise inlays. A gorgeous blister pearl is included in the offering bundle. This carving would make a great start to a self-built set of Six Directions.
