Solitary black girdled lizards live among the rocky outcrops on Table Mountain, South Africa. They have a striking black hue which helps them absorb sufficient heat from the sun. Lizard has turquoise eyes and measures approximately 4 3/8" long, 1 5/8" wide and 5/8" tall. Its long tail is elegantly draped in marble.
