Danette Laate's wonderful marble Snake has jet in turquoise inlays resembling eyespots. An eyespot is sometimes called ocellus which is an eye-like marking. They are found in creatures like butterflies, birds, reptiles, cats and fish. These false eyespots help in warding off predators. Measurements of this nicely etched reptile with turquoise eyes is approximately 2 3/4" long, 3/4" wide and 1/2" tall.
