Phosphosiderite is a rare mineral named for the main ingredients of phosphate and iron. The siderite at the end of phosphosiderite comes from the Greek word sideros which means iron. It is said to open one's eyes to new possibilities. The natural lavender hues are quite inspirational. Danette Laate's turquoise-eyed bushytail (Coyote, Fox or Wolf) has been carved from phosphosiderite to a size of approximately 2 1/2" long, 3/8" wide and 5/8" tall. A voluminous tail is nice etched.
