Fascinating scorpions have eight legs, grasping pincers and a segmented tail ending with a stinger. Scorpions are related to Spiders. Cody Chavez's gorgeous phosphosiderite scorpion is a plump and approximate 1 1/2" long, 7/8" wide and 1/2" tall. Five closely set eyes are from turquoise inlays. Phosphosiderite is a rare mineral named for main ingredients of phosphate and iron. The siderite at the end of phosphosiderite comes from the Greek word sideros which means iron. Phosphosiderite is said to open your eyes to new possibilities.
