Carved from burnished cottonwood root, Bart Gasper, Jr.'s "Bears In Paradise" sculpture demonstrates an attention to detail like no other. Utilizing the pyrography art form, which is creating designs on wood by applying heat and pressure, feast your eyes on two mighty bears who reel in fish with exquisite scaling. The oceanside bears wear offering necklaces and bracelets from branch red coral and crushed turquoise. They are adorned with traditional sashes as well. Other etched water creatures include a sea Turtle with an amazing carapace, enchanted seahorses, sea stars, jelly fish, water striders, Frogs and lovely aquatic plants. A few Dragonfly and rain clouds appear as well. We also love the base adorned with rolling waves whose patterns convey a beautiful sense of movement.
