Anthony Lovato of Kewa Pueblo is the 2023 recipient of the Museum Of Indian Arts & Culture Living Treasure Award. He started working with metal in 1973. He is a master of the labor intensive tufa cast method, known for his Corn design jewelry. His latest offering is a collectible cuff bracelet showcasing an outstanding Pilot Mountain turquoise stone.
The exacting process involved cutting a tufa stone in half, smoothing out both surface sides, etching a sprue hole on top, then carefully carving out this corn kernel design, in which Anthony poured in molten sterling silver. The end result is this amazing bracelet with an entire inner circumference of about 7 1/2", which includes the opening of approximately 1 1/4". The ultra-gorgeous Pilot Mountain turquoise stone itself is about 1 1/8" by 1". It was mined in Nevada. This bracelet is about 1 7/8" at its widest part.
Inside this comfortable to wear cuff bracelet is Anthony's signature along with an inspiring Bison herd. Please click here for help in determining wrist measurements and best fit.
