Sugar stone marble resembles a sweet confection disguised as a gentle polar Bear in Daryl Shack, Sr.'s elegant carving. Tiny, interlocking crystals catch and reflect the light giving this approximately 4 5/8" long, 7/8" wide and 2 1/2" tall journeying bear a nice sparkle. A tiny companion songird from young fluorite accompanies the powerful bear, and both creatures have neat eyes from cultured opal inlays, as they look for snow. View item

Vince Chavez comes from the greater Lunasee, Tsethlikai and Chavez family of noted Zuni carvers. His latest offering is a young Bison carved from local Zuni fluorite. Gorgeous soft minty green and subdued lavender hues live in this exquisite mineral. A whipped up tail, lovely horns, tiny hooves and turquoise eyes complete this approximately 1 3/4" long, 5/8" wide and 1" tall wonderful homegrown bovine. View item

Cody Chavez's fishing Bear with turquoise eyes sculpted from young fluorite, holds a watery fish from pink mussel shell in its mouth. Bears are wonderful hunters using different fishing techniques. Sometimes they wait and watch the water before pinning down a fast swimming fish. Or they may simply dive and chase their prey. When bears carry fish away from banks and into the woods, the carcasses decompose providing excellent nutrients to the soil which helps plants grow healthy and strong. The fortified plants are then eaten by other animals. About 2 7/8" long, 3/4" wide and 1 1/4" tall.
