Melvin Sandoval, San Felipe-Zuni
Melvin Sandoval's mastery of stone and brilliant artistry result in an old-style Eagle (or Hawk). The intricacies of the single dolomite specimen and the spirit of this raptor absolutely shine through. An eagle's ability to soar through the sky unconstrained is inspiring. About 4 1/4" long, 5/8" wide and 2 1/4" tall.Â
Burt Awelagte
Ancient layers of wind, water and sand united over millennia to form the Arizona sandstone Burt Awelagte used to sculpt a fine Eagle (or Hawk). An eagle's animal medicine teaches us to see the whole picture, to expand our perception. In widening our world view, we are able to rise above the sands of time and reach for the best we can be. Burt gifted this great teacher a removable offering necklace from turquoise and warm amber. Eyes are from turquoise inlays and a see-through beak is a lovely touch. About 4 1/2" long, 1 3/8" wide and 2 1/4" tall.
Troy Sice
Eagles are bold masters of the sky with fierce hunting abilities and extraordinary vision. The magnificence of an Eagle (or Hawk) is masterfully conveyed in Troy Sice's riveting approximately 9" long, 2 1/2" wide and 5" tall collectible raptor. Cascading layered plumage is expertly incised, burnished and polished inviting repeated strokes. The antler's natural variations highlight a beautifully etched head with pen shell in gold lip shell eyes, and a killer hooked beak. A special and removable miniature offering necklace with prey animals like antler Rabbits and a gorgeous natural branch red coral Snake are strung with lovely faceted turquoise and branch coral beads. The adorable bunny's faces are inlaid with turquoise eyes and red coral noses, while the cool reptile has turquoise eyes. Perhaps they are all friends discovering new places together because this powerful bird can easily take them there.
