Eagle and little brother Hawk are powerful raptors as depicted in multi-media artist Cameron Kalestewa's pine woodwork wall hanging that's intricately burnt in the pyrogravure art technique. Pyrography has been used by many ancient cultures like craftsman from Peru, Egypt and China. Cameron is one of the best pyrographers in Zuni. Crushed turquoise represents water for the growing garden of corn, squash and melons. Measurements are about 11" long including the lovely beaded loop with turquoise, 8 1/2" wide and 3/4" deep. Signed by the artist.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary. Please see our resources page for more information on the sanctuary.
