Desert Turtles eat cacti that provide great nutrition and moisture. Hooked beaks easily grind the succulents. Maxx Laate's wonderful "Turtle Eating Cactus" is carved from one portion of antler crown to a dimension of approximately 4 1/2" long, 2 5/8" wide and 2" tall. Wonderful etching brings out reptilian skin and a lovely carapace. Expressive eyes are from turquoise inlays. The cactus is incised for prickly spines.
