Vivella Cheama is an amazing carver in her own right. Her late husband noted artist Fabian Cheama was a leader behind a realistic and contemporary style of animal carving he started in the early 80's. Their son is carver Eli Cheama and son Adrin is also a wonderful jeweler. Vivella's devotion to detail is manifested in a strong Corn-Maiden sculpted from fish rock serpentine. Her corn body has red coral, lapis, onyx and jet inlays. Facial features are from jet paste and red coral. Three dots of turquoise adorn as well. Growing corn and raincloud elements are beautifully etched on this approximately 3 3/8" tall, 1 1/8" wide and 1 1/8" deep treasure.
