Fred Bowannie Jr.'s extraordinary all hand-carved and hand-painted, cottonwood and acrylic paints "Bringer Of Seeds" katsina is about 9 1/2" tall, 8 1/2" wide and 4" deep.
We see the "Bringer Of Seeds" katsina emerging from a pottery offering bowl filled with colorful corn cobs and wheat stalks of plant fiber and cloth cording. The katsina is traditionally dressed wearing his kilt, jewelry and headdress with feathers.
At the base sits other gifts such as a red chili ristra, melons, squash, green onions, tomatoes and pumpkin. All this bounty is a result of the amazing seeds that transform themselves into life-giving food.
Signed by the artist. Extra shipping charges may apply.
