Vivella Cheama
is backordered. We will ship it separately when it becomes available.
Roadrunners are tough customers even taking on Snakes. To add insult to injury, they'll line their nests with snakeskin too. Vivella Cheama carved a zippy roadrunner from a desert-hued Picasso marble. Focused eyes are from turquoise, while crest and tail feathers are sweetly etched. A wonderful feathered friend who measures about 2 5/8" long, 1/2" wide and 1 1/4" tall. Roadrunners are New Mexico's state bird.
Erma Kalestewa Homer
Erma Kalestewa Homer's natural clay and and mineral pigments pottery is a small replica of the traditional outdoor ovens seen in Zuni and other Pueblos, sometimes called hornos. In Zuni, the oven is called hebok'onne which refers to the convex shape of the mud used in making the structure. The outside of the oven is painted with Deer and perhaps a Rainbird or a roadrunner. Dimensions of this small treasure are about 1 1/4" long, 2" wide and 2" deep. Signed by the artist.
