Eddington Hannaweeka's incredible single-strand fetish necklace showcases a colorful and gorgeous array of animals, plus a wonderful Zuni Pueblo man of turquoise taking center stage on this approximate 27" long necklace. His face is a happy one, he measures about 1 1/4" long and 3/4" wide. These fetishes are strung with fine heishe shell beads.
We see animals like Bear, fish, Frog, Turtle, in addition to a variety of feathered friends such as Eagle and Hummingbird. They're carved of great materials like turquoise, apple coral, gold lip shell, tijilite, mother-of-pearl, malachite, Picasso marble, magnesite, dolomite, serpentine and amber. The animals vary in size from about 3/4" long to 1 1/2" long, and their eyes are inlaid with either jet or turquoise.
This matchless fetish necklace will be a treasured collectible for years to come. Eddington's sterling silver signature label is attached.
Derrick Kaamasee's uncle is renowned carver Maxx Laate. Derrick started carving in the late 1980s and comes from the greater Laate family of Zuni fetish artists. We're excited to offer a pair of his Hummingbirds hewn from one decadent specimen of fossilized ivory. Each delightful bird has turquoise inlaid eyes. About 1 1/2" tall, 5/8" wide and 1/2" deep.
