Found only in Western Australia, mookaite jasper is from a deposit on private land at Mooka Creek. Said to energize with life-force vigor, this gorgeous natural material is made up of different minerals and fossilized substances, most notably tiny aquatic plankton called radiolaria. Leave it to noted Zuni artist Todd Westika, who graduated from New Mexico Tech with a background in geo-engineering, to carve stunning mookaite jasper into this glorious Eagle (or Hawk) fetish necklace. His passion for rocks and minerals draws him to work with unusual stones. Each amazing raptor has eyes from sterling silver inlays. The center bird with spread wings is approximately 1 3/8" long and 1 5/8" wide, while the side raptors perch at roughly 1 1/2" to 1 3/4" long. Lovely sky blue turquoise, sterling silver and red coral beads accompany the birds on this collectible necklace that's about 30" long. Signed by the artist.

Powerful Eagle (or little brother Hawk) keeps watch over Zuni Pueblo as depicted in multi-media artist Cameron Kalestewa's pine woodwork and bright acrylic wall hanging that's intricately burnt in the pyrogravure art technique. Pyrography is the art of producing a design on wood by applying heat and pressure. A medium gaining new popularity among artists in recent years, pryogravure literally means “writing with fire” with origins that go back to the earliest days of humankind used by ancient craftsman from Peru, Egypt and China. Cameron is one of the best pyrographers in Zuni. Other harmonious details include mighty Bear, quick roadrunner, a Zuni Sunface abstraction, tracks and feathered arrow elements. Measurements are about 9 3/4" long including the lovely beaded loop with turquoise, 8 1/2" wide and 1/2" deep. Signed by the artist.
