At about 3 weeks of age, baby mountain goats begin to grow horns. Armond Sandoval's precious youngster will grow up strong, powerful and nimble enough to jump nearly 12 feet in a single bound using specialized cloven hooves with two toes, for supreme balance. Rough pads on the bottom of a mountain goat's hooves allow them to grip rocks as they climb high altitudes. Carved from travertine dotted with natural dendritic patterns, this turquoise-eyed kid measures a small 1 1/4" long, 5/8" wide and 1 3/8" tall. Adorable horns are from shell.
