We're honored to offer an extraordinary, circa 1975 vintage five strand fetish necklace created by members of the renowned Tsikewa family whose lineage is from the late great artist Teddy Weahkee. His daughter was Mary Tsikewa who was married to David Tsikewa, famous for his fetish necklaces. Their family included Lavina Tsikewa Kaskalla and Rudy Tsikewa among others.
In a collaborative presentation, this rare and truly collectible fetish necklace hosts a myriad of birds, Bears and perhaps bushytails like Coyotes, Wolves and Foxes. They are masterfully carved from striking red abalone, varying kinds of verdant serpentine and iridescent mother-of-pearl, to a total of 162 fetishes to be exact. Eyes are drilled and filled with jet. The lovely animal's average from about 1/2" to 3/4". The stunning necklace is about 26" long weighing approximately 68 grams.
