The bears are hand-carved from onyx ( the center piece bear is marble) and have eyes of inlaid turquoise and mouths of inlaid red coral. All are strung on a rich combination of fine heishe shell, green and blue turquoises, whole shells, square specimens of shell, and slivers of pink mussel shell located above each bear. The center bear measures about 1 1/2" long and 1 3/4" tall while the other bears measures about 1 1/4" long 3/4" tall. The necklace measures about 28" in total length.
A friendly and curious Mountain Lion pair by Lena Boone, roams the land for their next adventure. In Zuni tradition the mountain lion represents the guardianship of the north and the strongest of all hunting animals. The taller mountain lion is carved from onyx and the longer mountain lion is made from serpentine, both with eyes of inlaid turquoise. Together they carry an offering bundle of a point of shell, turquoise and red coral. About 1 1/2" tall and 3 1/2" long.
In a mood for exploration, this Mole is following its instincts. Mole reminds us to trust what we feel, not what we see. Carved from onyx and with turquoise eyes and accents, this endearing animal is 2" long, 3/4" tall, and 3/4" wide.
