Polar bears are especially sacred to the Inuit and Alaska's Indigenous Peoples who regard them much in the same way Pueblo folks do a white Bear, a powerful creature who is considered to have extra healing qualities. A pure and sweet spirit emanates from Herbert Halate's carefully contoured marble polar bear. Loving eyes are from turquoise inlays. Bears are apex predators regulating populations of other animals which maintains a balance in the ecosystem. They are our brothers and vital forest guardians who keep the Earth beautiful for all. A forest warden Bear comes to us from Freddie Leekya, a wonderful artist from the greater Leekya Deyuse family of carvers. Features include turquoise eyes and a nose, plus a red coral tongue. Measurements are about 3 3/8" long, 1 1/8" wide and 2 1/4" tall, from marble.

Clive Hustito's magnificent upright Bear is carved of a weighty colorful marble stone with wonderful swirls, of maroon with pink and cream undertones, giving the impression of a shaggy coat. Clive used turquoise for the inlaid eyes and incised claw details. He also honored the bear with a necklace of turquoise and coral beads.
