Around the age of eleven or twelve, Herbert Halate learned the art of animal carving by watching his late father Leonard Halate, who himself started producing them in the 1940's. Herbert's siblings are artists Reva Halate, Marvelita Phillips and Pansy Natachu. Herbert's wonderful Bear pair is carved from jet and marble. They each have turquoise eyes and sleek turquoise offering bundles. All together measurements are about 2 3/4" long, 2" wide and 1 1/8" tall. View item
