Rare garnierite sometimes called green moonstone is said to refresh the soul by reconnecting the heart to the natural world. As a spiritual amulet, some say it helps to alleviate anxiety and depression through the healing of old wounds we may carry. This exquisite mineral is a green nickel ore originally found in New Caledonia around 1867 by French mining engineer Jules Garnier. Master carver Kateri Quandelacy Sanchez's stunning Corn-Maiden with etched Dragonfly and star designs is sculpted from a delicious portion of garnierite. A soothing face is from overlaid shell with etched features filled with jet paste. A purple alunite cabochon adorns her. About 4 3/4" tall, 3 5/8" wide and 2 1/4" deep.
