Joshua Qualo
is backordered. We will ship it separately when it becomes available.
Talented stone carver and gifted painter Joshua Qualo's original brilliant acrylic on canvas board depicts New Mexico's state bird, the roadrunner with gorgeous tracks. Fearless birds, their prints are tricky to follow because they're shaped like the letter X so you can't tell if they are coming or going. The colorful yellow backdrop is adorned with Zia Pueblo's sacred Zia symbol in bright red. The symbol represents the Four Directions in life. Measurements of this vibrant artwork are approximately 8" by 10". Signed by the artist.
Joshua Qualo's Frog is carved from aventurine which is a form of quartz said to awaken mental clarity, enhance creativity and compassion. An abundance of red coral spots and forward facing turquoise eyes are inlaid to this approximately 2 7/8" long, 2 3/4" wide and 1" tall fabulous water creature. Some frog species are naturally spotted. Frogs singing or croaking create a pleasing soundscape.
Turtles have a rain association in Zuni where their shells are prized for making rattles used by the Rain Dancers. Joshua Qualo's stunning turtle painting honors this traditional worldview in an 8" by 10" original colorful acrylic on canvas board composition. The lovely reptile feels like its swimming with ease while thunderous rain cloud elements replenish water stores. Signed by the artist.
