Dinah Gasper is renowned for her fetish necklaces because they are exquisite, perfectly carved and thoughtfully assembled. Materials are always chosen with great care and compatibility. This inimitable multi-animal single strand fetish necklace is dynamic, strung with red coral beads. We see tadpole, Owl, Frog, Eagle, Hummingbird, Turtle, fish, duck, bushytail such as Fox, Wolf, Coyote, Badger, bird and Bear. They are masterfully carved from a variety of stones and shell such as amber, turquoise, spiny oyster shell, mother-of-pearl, pink mussel shell, jet, zebra marble, serpentine, angelite, alabaster, picture jasper, malachite, sodalite, magnesite, marble and dolomite. The animal's eyes are inlaid with either turquoise, jet or sterling silver. This is an incredibly gorgeous and collectible single strand fetish necklace that is approximately 32" in total length, while animal's average about 3/4" long. This fetish necklace comes with Dinah's sterling silver signature label attached.
A collectible and reversible mother-of-pearl Mountain-lion pendant fetish necklace, about 26" in length, is strung with a double strand of lovely heishe shell and other colorful beads, by Andres Quandelacy. The center mountain lion has an inlaid turquoise heartline on either side, plus eyes of inlaid turquoise, and measures about 1 5/8" long and 1 3/8" tall. Joining this feline are friends such as Bear, bushytails (Wolf, Coyote or Fox), Bison, mountain sheep or ram, Mole, and Elk or Deer. They are carved from green turquoise, lapis, mother-of-pearl, magnesite, jet, malachite and spiny oyster shell. They have inlaid eyes of turquoise and the bison have little horns of turquoise. This fabulous necklace comes with Andres Quandelacy's sterling silver signature label attached.
Franklin Carrillo, Laguna
Using channel inlay and hollow form techniques Franklin Carrillo hand build these sculptural beauties. The inlaid lapis, coral, malachite, sugilite, spiny oyster shell, turquoise, and mother of pearl shell window panes create a contemporary design. The hollow form building technique gives them mass without adding weight. About 1" long, 1/4" wide and the bottom, and 1/4" deep each earring weighs .2 oz, the same as 2 quarters.
Reva Halate's gorgeous and colorful single stand fetish necklace and earrings set hosts many tiny animals that range in size from about 1/4" to 3/4" long, while center pink mussel shell Dragonfly is about 1" in wingspan and 1 1/2" tall. This wonderful water insect has turquoise eyes and accents. We see other animals such as Bear, Hummingbird, Turtle, Frog, Rabbit and bushytail (Coyote, Fox or Wolf). They're sweetly carved of materials like turquoise, Mojave green turquoise, pink mussel shell, orange alabaster, rainbow calsilica, red and orange spiny oyster shells and gold lip shell. They're strung with fine heishe shell beads, and their eyes are of inlaid jet. A nice pair of angelite bushytail earrings hang at about 1 3/4" long and are also strung with fine heishe shell beads. Overall necklace length is about 28" long. This collectible fetish necklace and earrings set will be a treasure to wear for years to come!
A stunning and ethereal sterling silver Dragonfly cuff bracelet by Diane Lonjose. The dragonfly is meticulously inlaid with all natural materials like #8 Mine turquoise, both purple and red spiny oyster shell, plus Pilot Mountain turquoise. Two turquoise cabochons have been placed on each side of the dragonfly. The entire inner circumference of the cuff is 6 3/8" including an opening of 1". The dragonfly has a 2 1/4" wingspan and a length of 2 5/8". The craftsmanship and quality of materials of this cuff are exceptional.
Mary C. Lovato, Kewa (Santo Domingo)
Mary C. Lovato is an award-winning Kewa (Santo Domingo) Pueblo jeweler, extremely popular for her attractive mosaic shell work. She has carefully arranged irregular specimens of mother-of-pearl, spiny oyster shell, pen shell, abalone, fossilized ivory, spiny oyster shell, turquoise, and jet atop a bed of melon shell. A striking sterling silver vertical inlay adds another creative element to these post earring. These light and comfortable to wear earrings measure about 1 1/2" long and 7/8" wide at the fullest part.
