Debra Gasper and her husband Ray Tsethlikai, have created this outstanding six directions reversible necklace, about 28" in total length. Strung with gorgeous turquoise and faceted onyx beads are the animals that represent the six directions Zunis acknowledge, plus they assign a color and animal to each.
The center many-colored Eagle of Zenith (of the heavens) pendant, is carved of rainbow fluorite, and is about 1 5/8" long and 1 1/2" tall, including pendant fixture. We also see Yellow Mountain-lion of the North, carved of yellow calcite, Red Badger of the South, carved of pipestone, White Wolf of the East carved of alabaster, Blue Bear of the West, carved of turquoise, and Black Mole of the Nadir (in the earth) carved of Acoma jet. All the animal's have eyes of inlaid sterling silver, except for mole, whose eyes are incised.
The artist's sterling silver signature label is attached.
