Joel Pajarito, Kewa (Santo Domingo)
Native American symbols of power, mobility and continuance of life adorn Joel Pajarito's spectacular tufa cast jewel box. Bison (or buffalo), Horse, sacred Corn, hand elements signifying unity, sprawling teepees, a magnificent head-dressed rider, in addition to important celestial stars, moon, sun and grand raincloud motifs are tufa cast from sterling silver. This amazing jewelry process involves cutting a tufa stone in half, smoothing out both surface sides, carving a sprue hole on top, then skillfully etching out designs, where molten sterling silver was poured in. Joel painstakingly and thoughtfully fortified every surface of this luxurious and museum-quality 2-piece lid with caddy. He also inlaid stunning sky-blue Kingman turquoise and brilliant red coral cabochons. This ultra-gorgeous box is approximately 3" long, 2 3/8" deep and 1 5/8" tall including cabochons, perfect for housing your most treasured keepsake. Signed by the artist.
Employing the labor intensive tufa cast method, Anthony Lovato's all handmade Corn cuff bracelet, with an outstanding New Landers turquoise stone, is extraordinarily lovely.
The exacting process involved cutting a tufa stone in half, smoothing out both surface sides, etching a sprue hole on top, then carefully carving out this corn design, in which Anthony poured in molten sterling silver. The end result is this amazing bracelet that tapers from about 2" to 3/4". The gorgeous New Landers turquoise stone is about 2" by 1".
Inside this super wearable and comfortable cuff bracelet, is Anthony's signature along with inspiring Horse, Hummingbird, flower, Dragonfly and pueblo-inspired motifs. He is an avid horseman. This mouth-watering cuff bracelet's entire inner circumference is about 7 1/4", including the opening of approximately 1 1/4".
Sandra Quandelacy's reversible corn and maidens pendant necklace showcases colorful and out-of-sight materials like green turquoise, orange spiny oyster shell, lapis, marble, pipestone, fossilized ivory, phosphosiderite and jet all carved and incised into individual corn cobs that average about 1 3/8" long. They are neatly strung with turquoise, red coral, white shell and heishe shell beads on a single strand that's about 25" long.
Taking center stage on this fabulous necklace is a reversible gold lip shell corn maiden on one side, while the other side is a Grandmother, about 3" long and 1" wide. We love how Sandra's handled the traditional clothing Grandmother is wearing, the pleat details are wonderful. Both maidens are incised with lovely Dragonfly friends and star elements, and are inlaid with red coral, turquoise and jet bits. Their facial features are incised and inlaid with jet paste. Don't miss this collectible fetish necklace, it's exceptional.
