Sandra Quandelacy carved this powerful celebration women. One side shows a Corn Maiden, with many incised kernels on her corn body, while the reverse shows us an woman wearing a dress and wrapped in a long shawl. Perhaps it is the same woman moving from mother to elder or perhaps the corn maiden is the spirit that supports and strengthens the woman. Adorned with inlaid cabochons of jet, coral and shell. Their shared tablita headdress is a beautiful luminescent mother of pearl shell incised with  Dragonflies and stars. Together these ladies stand about 2 3/8" tall, 7/8" wide by 3/4" deep. The base of the turquoise carving measures about 1/2" wide by 3/8" deep, making this piece more suitable for a stable display shelf or table.
