A precious portion of local Cerrillos turquoise has been carved into an elemental Eagle (or Hawk) by Burt Awelagte. Watchful eyes are from jet inlays. Cerrillos turquoise is found in the Cerrillos Hills near Madrid, New Mexico, beloved for a unique green color. The golden matrix looks beautiful alongside the sea foam green-hued turquoise. Raptors like eagles can see far distances teaching us to keep our goals in sight. Indigenous cultures honor them as living, sacred symbols of power. About 3 3/4" tall, 4 3/4" wide and 2" deep.
