Of all the arachnids, spiders form the largest group, with more than 3,000 species in North America alone. All spiders are predators. Most spiders have 4 pairs of eyes arranged in various designs on the front of their head. The hunting spiders eyes are arranged in such a way to enable them to see in all directions at once. This fantastic Spider by Michael Coble is carved of ricolite or serpentine, and is about 2" long, 1 3/8" wide and 7/8" tall, with eyes of inlaid turquoise.

A Dragonfly is carved of motor agate, or Fordite, a recycled material from hardened paint by way of automobile factories. This jazzy dragonfly makes its home in the water and plays in the air. Dragonflies are ancient insects that were here before dinosaurs walked the Earth. This inviting fetish has an approximate 3 1/8" wingspan, is 3 1/2" long and 3/8" tall, by prolific carver Brian Yatsattie.
