Contemporary Zuni Pueblo jeweler Dylan Poblano likes to view his jewelry designs as wearable sculptures. He studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. His mother Veronica Poblano and sister Jovanna Poblano are wonderful artists as well and they all descend from carving great Leo Poblano (d).
Dylan's latest creation is a pair of ethereal sterling silver Dragonfly earrings for pierced ears. Silver beads create awesome texture along the elegantly curved bodies, while repousse star elements celebrate a dragonfly's magical flight. A gorgeously dynamic and one-of-a-kind pair of earrings measuring approximately 4" long and 2 1/2" wide.
Dragonflies light up the air and skies with their captivating movements and iridescent beauty. One of the fastest insects on planet earth, these expert fliers can go higher than any bug. It's no wonder as the Zunis regard dragonfly as the messenger who carries prayers to Spirit World.
Award-winning jeweler Charlotte Poblano-Peina's all handmade reticulated sterling silver and 14K gold pendant is called "Elusive Dragonfly". Carved chrysoprase wings, an etched green sea glass abdomen and a red coral cercus marry stunningly, while 14K gold tipped antennae surround a turquoise head etched with jet eyes. Charlotte fabricated the setting with an elongated opening to help illuminate the scrumptious green sea glass area from underneath. Including bale fixture, this alluring pendant is approximately 3 1/4" long and 2" wide. Signed by the artist. The lovely silver hammered collar is not included but is available and sold separately here.

A marvelous monarch Butterfly has willfully landed slightly askew, on Zuni Pueblo jeweler Jason Bobelu's astonishingly gorgeous handmade designer sterling silver cuff bracelet.
Twisted sterling silver antennae and wing borders anchor pen shell, colorful orange and red spiny oyster shells, sky blue turquoise, iridescent black lip shell and shimmering mother-of-pearl in the challenging stone-to-stone jewelry method where materials are set side by side. Alive with transformation and beauty, this glorious butterfly station measures about 2 1/2" by 2".
The approximate 1 3/4" wide sides of this extraordinary cuff bracelet are also set with these exciting materials, creating pleasing patterns that merry beautifully with the winged insect. Silver spiral elements are between the tiered pueblo or mountain shaped overlays.
A museum-quality collectible, Jason's stellar cuff bracelet has an entire inner circumference of about 7", including the opening of approximately 1 1/4". Signed by the artist.

Energizing malachite cabochons compose the abdomen and cephalothorax of Herbert Ration's amazing sterling silver Spider pin. All handmade, its eight legs and turquoise eyes delight. A spider's web is a thing of beauty and provides a good example in that everything we do can also be creative and expressive. About 1 3/4" long, 1 5/8" wide and 5/8" tall. Signed by the artist.
Where there is a Dragonfly, there is water. Ask Zunis about a dragonfly (Shumak'olo:wa in the Zuni language) and they will tell you that a dragonfly is the messenger who carries prayers to Spirit World. The double-winged form of a dragonfly is sometimes referred to as the “Pueblo Cross.”
Bursting forth with colors like turquoise-blue, navy blue, yellow, lavender, varying shades of green and golden orange-brown, this one-of-a-kind dragonfly surfite necklace and earrings set is by Brian Yatsattie. He is a prolific, collectible and brilliant Zuni artist. Surfite is a jazzy, recycled material by way of retired surf boards. Each insect is masterfully carved, while the individual surfite beads are uniquely barrel-shaped. The center and larger dragonfly is about 2 1/2" long and 2" wide, while the smaller dragonflies measure approximately 2 1/4" long and 1 3/4" wide. They're strung with surfite and turquoise beads on a 27" long necklace. The dragonfly earrings hang at about 2 1/2" long and 1 1/2" wide.
Bringing good dragonfly medicine, Brian's refreshing necklace and earrings set will be a favorite in any jewelry collection, easy to wear everyday.
