A chubby little
Frog or toad is carved from serpentine by Danette Laate. It has etched nostrils and charming eyes from jet in turquoise, just like the bumpy glands on its back. Frogs are small vertebrates that need water, spending more time in it than a related toad. In Zuni traditional ways, frogs are considered a major rain-bringing fetish associated with abundance, fertility and cleansing. About 1 1/4" long, 1 3/8" wide and 5/8" tall.
