Lion's paw shell comes from a bivalve that forms neat variations, textures and stunning color as seen in Sandra Quandelacy's magnificent Corn Mothers and Grandmother carving. Facial features are etched and filled with jet paste, while the women are accented with coral, lapis lazuli and turquoise inlays. They are presented on a mussel shell base with crushed turquoise to represent life-giving water. Star and Dragonfly elements are added. Measurements in their entirety are about 3" tall, 1 5/8" wide and 7/8" deep.
