The Zuni Sunface is a traditional design symbolizing a balance of the elements as seen in Danette Laate's Corn-Maiden. It's made from coral, jet and turquoise. Carved from a desert-hued picture jasper, facial features are set with turquoise and jet. Whorled hair is gorgeously incised and adorned with turquoise inlays. A corn leaf blade is etched and inlaid with a turquoise accent on the reverse side. A turquoise Dragonfly hovers close. Approximately 1 3/4" tall, 1 3/8" wide and 1/2" deep.
