An ancient Indigenous legend describes the otter as a giver of great fortunes. Melvin Sandoval's bestower of blessings otter emerges from the river impressively sculpted from angelite to a size of approximately 3" long, 1 3/4" wide and 1 3/8" tall. A gesture of appreciation from the artist for an otter's natural ways comes in the form of an offering bundle laced with turquoise and clam heishe beads.
