For the Indigenous Tohono O'odham of southern Arizona and northwestern Mexico, Mount Lemmon is known as Babad Do'ag or Frog Mountain. It is the highest point in the Santa Catalina Mountains located in the Coronado National Forest north of Tucson, Arizona. Mount Lemmon's geology is made up of Bolsa Quartzite, Dripping Spring Quartzite and a local sandstone and conglomerate. Celebrated artist Loren Tsalabutie has exquisitely sculpted a gentle Bear from a gorgeous Mount Lemmon found stone. The stone has lots of glistening mica inclusions as well as fascinating darker ones, plus bits of fabulous clear quartz. The speckled mineral is complimented by a finely chiseled lapis lazuli point offering. Eyes are from turquoise inlaid to a wonderfully sweet face. About 4" long, 1 5/8" wide and 2 7/8" tall.
