Zuni Olla Maidens are one of the most renowned dance groups in New Mexico. The members dance with fragile water jars or ollas, balanced on the top of their heads. Traditionally ollas would be used to transport all kinds of things including
Corn meal or water. Cody Chavez's Olla Maiden has been carved from picture jasper inlaid with coral, jet and turquoise accents. Her eyes are from turquoise. About 2 3/4" tall, 1/2" wide and 3/4" deep.
