An elegant Eagle or Hawk by the talented Evalena Boone. Evalena continues the tradition of carving handed down to her through her mother Lena Boone and her grandmother Edna Leki (d). In this lovely piece Evalena turned a section of smokey black lip mother of pearl shell into an eagle in flight. The turquoise inlaid eyes are bright and vibrant, seeing detail at great distances. The eagle is inlaid with red coral, a protective stone with gently undulating curves on the wings. The following the flat shape of the shell, this eagle has a high polish and feels wonderful in hand. The high flying eagle measures about 2 3/8" long by 1 1/8" wide.
A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this eagle fetish will go to the Zuni Eagle Sanctuary. Please see our resources page for more information on the sanctuary.
