Peter Sohappy's wondrous "Zone Tail
Hawk Bust" is about 5" tall, 4" wide and 3/4" deep. Carved in three dementions from stained flagstone this powerful bust sits securely on a table top or shelf. Peter left the back of the head in the natural stone giving a nice textural detail. These majestic raptors are usually found in the arid foothills and canyons of the southwestern United States. However, they have been expanding their range slowly northward since the 1990s, being found in areas as far away as Nova Scotia and Virginia. Some scientists suggest that “vagrant” sightings such as these are not random events but are a product of expanding populations.
