Carved from turquoise by Sandra Quandelacy is a Butterfly Maiden. She represents feminine strength and positive transformation because butterflies must go through a metamorphose to survive. Presented in a slightly leaning stance as though imparting words of wisdom, her lovely wings are set with colorful Mojave green turquoise, coral and shell pieces. An overlaid face is from rich fossilized ivory etched and filled with jet paste. Dimensions are approximately 2 1/4" tall, 3/4" wide and 1 5/8" long.
