A miniature Picasso marble jar is filled with crushed turquoise and a touch of coral that an Olla Corn-Maiden and Grandmother balance on their head. Traditionally ollas or pottery jars would be used to transport all kinds of things including corn meal or water. Carved from iridescent mother-of-pearl, the measurements in their entirety are approximately 3 3/4" tall, 1 1/4" wide and 1" deep, by Sandra Quandelacy. Facial features are etched and filled with jet paste.
