Sandra Quandelacy's two-sided carving from gorgeous bloodstone depicts a Corn-Maiden and Maiden Grandmother. They balance a miniature "pottery" jar from marble filled with crushed turquoise to represent precious water which is a living source of interconnectedness, on their head. Grandmother's shawl or blanket has incised Dragonflies while Corn Maiden's face is from overlaid pipestone. Colorful red coral, turquoise, lapis lazuli, serpentine and cowry shell inlays accent the corn kernels of Corn Maiden's body. About 2 1/2" tall, 3/4" wide and 5/8" deep.
