Master artist Anthony Gchachu enjoys creating emotion in his paintings. He leaves it up to the viewer to ascertain what's going on in the composition and how it makes them feel. "Hometown Raven" is from his new collection titled "Finding The Heart of Our Home" which honors the A:Shiwi (The Zuni People's) origin and migration story.
In the beginning, two eggs hosted either Raven or Macaw. Raven emerged from a shiny, colorful egg, leading one half of The People to present day Zuni, New Mexico. The Macaw hatched from a dull drab egg leading the other half of The People to South America.
Anthony said the gold frame is representing the shiny and colorful egg from which Raven hatched. Framed measurements are about 15 1/4" by 12 1/4" by 1 3/4", while unframed dimensions are approximately 14" by 11". The original acrylic is signed by the artist.
