Sacred Dowa Yalanne or Corn Mountain and Zuni village is richly rendered in carved cottonwood by Alan Lewis. The amazing growth rings and natural gnarls of the root are pleasing to the eye. Burnished details of Zuni Village include many traditional baking ovens called hornos, little wooden beams known as vigas, small doorways and climbing ladders. Lively acrylics highlight bountiful yellow, blue, red and white corn. A Zuni Sunface which represents a balance of the elements hangs protectively in the sky. A handsome woodwork of a great size at about 8" tall, 8 1/2" wide and 4" deep.
