Lynn Quam descends from the late Johnny Quam and Westika family of wonderful Zuni artists. His siblings include the late carvers Rhoda Quam and Pernell Gasper, as well as jeweler Nancy Westika. Their mother was noted jeweler Annie Gasper Quam who also learned to carve animals from her father Johnny Quam. Smoothly sculpted from lively labradorite, this turquoise-eyed Bear is inlaid with a Zuni Sunface symbol which represents the elements in balance. Sky blue turquoise, jet and luscious pipestone are set stone to stone. A heartline or breath path element is from turquoise. About 3 7/8" long, 1" wide and 2 3/8" tall.
