Zuni Olla Maidens are one of the most renowned dance groups in New Mexico. The members dance with fragile water pottery jars also called ollas, balanced on the top of their heads. Traditionally ollas would be used to transport all kinds of things including Corn meal or water. Silvan Panteah's wonderful Zuni Olla Maiden pairing is sculpted from lovely Texas soapstone. Facial features are etched and the folds of their warm blankets are beautifully presented. About 5" tall, 3" wide and 1" deep.
