Zuni Maiden

Gayla Eriacho's Zuni Maidens are some of the sweetest around. Sculped from local Zuni travertine, this pen-shell eyed Maiden Grandmother has traditionally-styled whorled hair and wears a shawl, signifying she hasn't had children but has mothered many. Facial features are from inlaid pen shell and perhaps coral or pipestone. An elegantly carved turquiose necklace and turquoise inlays adorn this approximately 2 1/4" tall, 1 1/8" wide and 5/8" deep wonderful carving.
