Animal: Rhinoceros, Material: Onyx

Bryston Bowannie descends from the greater Natewa, Dallas Quam (d) and Panteah extended families of Zuni Pueblo artists. His brother is carver Calvert Bowannie. We're adoring Bryston's rhinoceros carved from onyx and inlaid with sky blue turquoise eyes. The onyx looks gorgeously muddied as though this friend was happily wallowing. It has two carved horns and a sweet etched smile. All rhinoceroses are endangered. About 2 3/4" long, 3/4" wide and 1 3/4" tall.
